Fit for Life
Physical Therapy
When Russ's
father suffered a series of progressive strokes, Russ
learned first-hand the value and necessity of
Physical Therapy. An in-home care physical,
occupational and speech therapy team trained Russ and
his family in the use of hospital equipment and the
daily therapy routines that were necessary for his
father's rehabilitation.
After this
family-altering experience, Russ completed a certificate
of teaching in Physical Education from the Wingate
Institute in Israel.
He coached a
Women's Developmental Program for the Israeli Gymnastic
Team and served active and reserve duty in the Israeli
Army. Russ received a Bachelor of Science degree
from SUNY at Stony Brook University in 1992 and holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from
Adelphi University.
Russ is
currently enrolled in a doctoral degree program to be a
Clinical Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at SUNY at
Stony Brook. Russ Poker has completed all course
related to treatment of Spine and Extremities required
for Certification as a Manual Therapist from the
University of St. Augustine in Florida. |
